This day in English History

This day in English History: Apr 9, 1731:

Robert Jenkins's ear was cut off, sparking the War of Jenkins's Ear between Spain and England.

=====

The British certainly have more interestingly named wars than the Americans. We've got names like The War of 1812, The Civil War, and of course , [Insert foreign country name Here] War. Yawn.

Not nearly as interesting as The War of Devolution, The War of the Roses, or The War of Jenkin's Ear.
