Real-life StarTrek computer

My friend Bradley and I were talking about the way the Future is shown on TV, especially on Star Trek.

Unlike our current personal computers, the shipboard computer on the Enterprise seems to have an infinite amount of memory.

Can you imagine Kirk shouting, "Computer, fire phasers!" and the computer responds:

"Insufficient Memory for your Command.
Recommend terminating an Application.
Do you want to shut down Life Support? Yes/No."
